Button mushrooms


Cremini, Portobello, and buttons are the same type. The difference lies in their shapes, taste, colour and time of harvesting. Button mushrooms are of the kind which is harvested when they are at their growing stage. They are soft with a subtle flavour. In addition, it is suitable to be combined with green salads, chicken salads, stir-fry them to add into soups, can be used in burgers, etc.


Portobello mushrooms


Portobello is the most demanding type of mushroom, which are used in nearly every kitchen in Australia. These mushrooms are giant in shape, rich and dense, used primarily as bun patties and in plates of pasta. It is referred to as a flat cap for its round appearance. Cremini mushrooms

Maitake mushrooms


For its flowery texture, it is called the ‘hen of the woods.’ They are not among the common types of mushrooms in the market, but they have extraordinary flavours when added to recipes.


Shiitake mushrooms


Commonly found, it has a brown cap shaped like an umbrella that curls down slightly. Freshly harvested shiitakes have a light aroma and are chewy in texture.


There are other types like the oyster and king oyster mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, beech mushrooms, king trumpet, and chanterelle mushrooms that are edible and will make your dish tasty.
